Deb Walkup, Lori Heyman, and I joined David Bergman (who hiked the TRT with us last week) on his Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District Cool Summer hike at El Corte de Madera Creek OSP (map). We drove through a thick, cold, fog on the way, and the roads were wet with the moisture that the redwoods had captured from that fog.
The hike took us through redwood and Douglas fir forests, fields of huckleberry, chaparral with manzanita and madrone, and some sandstone formations called tafoni. It also took us past the 1953 wreckage of the DC-6 called Resolution.
