I've been using CVS since about 1995. CVS (Concurrent Versioning System) is a wonderful front-end to RCS that allows concurrent edits. I love it, and if you like RCS, you will too. CVS allows you to operate on entire hierarchies of files, rather than a single file at a time. I also use the client/server capabilities of CVS to keep my environment the same on the various hosts throughout the Internet where I have accounts. Many Internet software projects use CVS and provide anonymous access, so you can easily check out and view the software.
