dive #: 131 |
date: 2 October 2005 time: 13:23 |
max. depth: 11.2 m
dive time: 54 min
notes:
Georg got a taste of the outer pinnacles. We dropped at Cannery Point and kept the rocks on our left shoulder. Once around the point, we took a 330 heading and eventually crossed a small sand channel (~ 10 m) where the water cleared and we saw walls of corynactus, sponge, a wolf eel, and the largest ling cod I've ever seen (~1.3 m) which struck me as first as monster rock fish as it was closer to red/brown than the usual gray, apparently doing the camouflage thing. Large (~50 cm) rockfish hovered in the kelp above. It turned out to be a great dive.
